Greece

Greece is the perfect honeymoon destination. From white sandy beaches, clear blue seas and gorgeous, long sunny days, there is something for everyone in Greece. There is a wide variety of things to do in Greece, from visiting ancient Greek ruins to excellent nightlife. The greater part of the Western world is enthralled with the spectacular remains of the ancient Greeks. Greek history and culture is widely preserved and is everywhere you look. Greece is the birthplace of politics, history, literature and philosophy, so if you’re something of a history buff, you will love Greece. With flights departing from all airports in the UK to Greece, on a regular basis, you’ll be sure to find something at a reasonable price that is local to you. Currency wise, Greece uses the Euro.

Italy

Italy is the ultimate romantic getaway. It is as diverse as it is beautiful. With perfect scenery, long beaches and historic cities, as well as fine food and heavenly wines, Italy truly does have it all. Many of the great arts descend from Italy, with the Sistine Chapel. Think Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Botticelli. The arts are a thing to behold in Italy. Roman history is prevalent throughout Rome and the surrounding cities, to which the remains their historic buildings. A trip to Vatican City is a must, regardless of your religion. You never know, you may even catch a glimpse of the pope!

France

France is a wonderfully varied. One thing that frequently is mentioned when France is dropped into conversation is the tasty cheese. Champagne, wine, pastry, breads and cheese are all delicious staples of French cuisine. Should you and your newlywed be ‘foodies’ then France is a must. With short flights from the UK, France is also very accessible. If you and your newlywed are more the adventurous types, France has many ski resorts that are reasonably priced too.

Ireland

Ireland isn’t the green isle for nothing. The rolling green hills of Ireland are simply stunning and provide the perfect backdrop for your honeymoon. Serving the finest Guinness and whiskeys, you cannot go wrong in Ireland. If you enjoy walking and taking in picturesque scenery, then pack your hiking boots and go to Ireland.

Malta

Malta is stunning. With gorgeous harbours and beaches, as well as places historical and religious interest, Malta is often forgotten as a honeymoon destination. With many UNESCO world heritage sites, medieval churches and spa facilities there is something for everyone in Malta. Honeymooners can enjoy the many couple-focussed offerings that Malta has, such as water sports, cycling, hiking and climbing, as well as relaxing on the soft sandy beaches with crystal blue seas.
